As a chiropractic assistant, I am immersed in “chiro talk” on a daily basis. I understand how important spinal health is and I see first-hand how the body heals. The truth is, I hadn’t been to one of Dr. Dan’s dinner talks in about 2.5 years, when I first joined the TFC Team. Though I I’ve learned the information, the dinner talk I recently attended reinvigorated me and reminded me just how important chiropractic care and spinal health is – it quite literally saves lives! I thought to myself, everyone needs to attend and hear this information. So I decided to share my takeaways from our last Meal that Matters…
The nervous system (brain, spinal cord and nerves) controls and coordinates EVERY other function in the body. If there is nerve interference (subluxation) and your brain is unable to get signals to the other systems in your body, it could have severe effects on your health. You might not have symptoms right away, but years and years of miscommunication can cause malfunction and dis-ease. For example, if a subluxation is preventing your brain from signaling your pancreas to make enough insulin for a long period of time, you can develop diabetes.

Bottom line: A properly functioning nervous system is essential to keeping you healthy.

It doesn’t matter how young or how old you are. Subluxations can be present from birth or during infancy. The symptoms may be present early on or take years to develop. It goes without saying that the earlier a subluxation is identified and corrected, the better! “As the twig is bent so grows the tree.” It is NEVER too late though! Dr. Dan has helped newborns as well as people in their 90s!

Bottom line: Nobody is too young or too old to have a healthy spine!

There are two “health” care models in America. The one that most of us are accustomed to deals with the detection and intervention of symptoms, disease and infirmity. In this model, medication takes center stage in the treatment of disease. Wouldn’t it make a lot more sense to embrace a health model that is aimed at PREVENTING disease in the first place? This type of health model is based on promoting, regaining and/or maintaining health & wellness thereby preventing disease and infirmity. We FIRMLY believe in and practice this model of health care.

Bottom line: Our goal is to correct problems and help you have a better quality of life.

Do you ever notice how a lazy day on the couch makes you feel more fatigued than a day when you were on the go, exercising, and generally busy? Interestingly enough, there is reason for that! Dr. Roger Sperry, Winner of The 1981 Nobel Prize in Physiology & Medicine, stated that “90% of the stimulation and nutrition to the brain is generated by movement of the spine. This would be analogous to a windmill generating electricity.”

Bottom line: It is vital to your brain function to have your spine working properly!

“A Meal That Matters” opened my eyes and reminded me what the true purpose of chiropractic actually is. My entire family gets checked for subluxations regularly and I believe we are all healthier because of it.

As part of our mission to grow a healthy community, we offer these complimentary dinner events the 2nd Tuesday of every month. Join us for A Meal That Matters at Café Notte, ask questions and share in an honest conversation about health. We think you’ll be glad you did.
