We’ve all heard the phrase “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” But let’s face it, getting breakfast on the table is a struggle for many of us. In today’s society it seems we’re always in a rush to get out the door and it’s often times easier to grab something on-the-go. Well, I’m here to tell you about a 3-ingredient, nutrient-packed breakfast that your whole family will love. It couldn’t be easier to prepare and you most likely have the ingredients on hand.

Let’s start by talking about the benefits of each healthy ingredient:

Bananas
Bananas are high in fiber and help with digestive health. They’re also high in potassium which helps lower blood pressure and keeps your heart healthy. They’re full of powerful antioxidants that help your body fight off free radicals that can cause a variety of health challenges and diseases.

Eggs

Eggs are a complete protein meaning they contain all of the nine essential amino acids required to build and repair protein tissues in the body. Eggs tend to keep you full longer, and could help you eat fewer calories later in the day leading to weight loss. Eggs can reduce your risk of heart disease and have omega-3 fatty acids that help lower cholesterol. Eggs also contain powerful antioxidants called carotenoids that promote eye health & protect against chronic illness.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is loaded with antioxidants (notice that word again?!) that have anti-inflammatory properties. Antioxidants protect your body’s cells from oxidative damage that can cause a weakened immune system, cancer and other diseases. It also helps to keep your blood sugar levels in check. Studies have shown that when 1 to 6 grams are consumed with food, your insulin resistance decreases.

And now to the yummy part! This recipe is so healthy you don’t have to feel guilty even if you eat the whole batch. Which come to think of it, you may want to plan to double or triple the recipe.

Bonus: Kids go crazy for these pancakes. Serve them for breakfast, lunch or dinner – they’ll be a winner.
