Brain Fog can come out of nowhere, zap your energy, steal your concentration and leave you less productive, less focused and less likely to rock your day. But you don’t have to be at its mercy!

Check out these 5 Simple Tips for Busting Brain Fog before it destroys your day.

Lasting energy comes from eating nutritious, whole foods like quality meats and organic fruits and veggies. Refined sugars and carbohydrates from processed foods will leave you feeling drained later in the day and craving more. Processed foods and excessive sugar wreak havoc on the gut, which directly contributes to feelings of brain fog and fatigue. Eat a healthy, well-balanced diet and drink lots of water to help bust through that brain fog!

Fresh air and sunlight are so rejuvenating for the body. Fresh air is calming, but also boosts your energy! Even a short 10-15 minute break outside can do wonders for your physical and mental well-being! Sunlight helps boost serotonin, which helps with energy and mental clarity. Exposure to natural light, especially early in the day, can also help with cortisol regulation which will promote better sleep. And we know good quality sleep is important for reducing brain fog and boosting mental clarity!

Sleep is crucial to the proper functioning of all systems of the body. Chronic stress drains our energy and makes us feel lethargic. Listen to your body and if you feel the need to go to bed early, sleep in, or take a nap, do it! Your body knows it needs rest to recover and heal! You can’t run on empty all the time and then expect to have the energy to power through your day. hen sunshine isn’t an option, it’s important to supplement the Vitamin D our bodies need to promote calcium absorption, bone and teeth health, and immune system function. Choose a supplement that includes Vitamin K for improved absorption. Look for an option that is specifically D3 (natural) versus D2 (synthetic) so that it’s bioavailable (ready for your body to use).

Give your body the rest it needs to function at its best! Chronic stress can make us feel tired but make it more difficult to actually get restful sleep, especially if your mind races at night. Find a good source of stress-reduction that will work for you, whether it be meditation, journaling, walking, listening to music, prayer, yoga, etc. Find what brings you peace and stick with it!

Just like a windmill generates electricity and lights up a town or city, the movement of your spine and joints generates kinetic (motion) energy in your body. This is why sitting all day, which takes very little energy output, leaves you feeling exhausted. Whereas a workout, which uses a lot of energy, leaves you feeling invigorated!

Getting to the gym is great, but you can also increase active time throughout your day. Try going for walks or doing some yoga/stretching to break up sedentary time.

A chiropractic adjustment is one of the best ways to bust through brain fog and improve mental clarity! That’s because an adjustment helps to restore your nervous system function by removing interference caused by everyday stress.

When your nervous system is functioning at its best, so is the rest of your body – including your brain! While chiropractic adjustments are great for back pain and headache relief, a specific adjustment can do so much more for your health!

If you are battling brain fog, or another health challenge, and would like to find out if chiropractic care is the answer, we would be happy to help!
